Landsberg am Lech, November 2008 – The competition for Olympic gold medals according to the motto “higher, faster, further” was not only held in Beijing – in Erfurt/Germany, national teams of chefs cooked to win Olympic honours. With nearly 1600 chefs and patissiers from 53 countries, Chef’s Olympics is the world’s largest cooking event.
Competition was fierce. However, in spite of all the hectic, the quality of food was perfect. Equipped with the very latest RATIONAL cooking technology, the chefs of the national teams had time to concentrate on the essentials: What finesse do I need to convince the judges? What must I do better in order to overtake my competitors?
From the 32 national teams, this was best achieved by the speciality of the Norwegian team, who beat Germany and Sweden. The Norwegian team was able to impress the palates of the international jury with their successful menu of fjord salmon, arctic caviar sauce and versions of “Svanöy” lamb.
